what do space princesses and robots wear?

  • Jun. 9th, 2005 at 6:36 PM
greenbird
This is a 1979 paperdoll ripoff of Star Wars. Star Princess (Princess Leia) and Pluta (female C3PO)!

The images are a bit cropped because the book is too large for my scanner. If you want one of the outfits in full let me know and I'll rescan just that portion of the page.

How fun!

(and you can clearly see that period's fashion on some of the clothes/hairdos!)

a little bit of Wonder Woman influence too, I think!

Waow ! Where did you find this ? It's such a period piece... Some of the outfits are a mix of disco-queen / Star Wars rip off ! But I'm sorry, I think Pluta isn't half as cute and sexy as C-3PO !

ebay, of course...the only place i shop, it seems. i agree about pluta...they sort of made her a leia-c3po hybrid.

pluta seems like the illegitimate love-child of a three-way between princess leia, c3p0, and dot matrix from spaceballs :)

Wah, I love it.
I quite like pluta, because I like the little coloured buttons on her belly. I think I need a spaceship like that too.

OMG- I think I had this set! That image of Pluta is particularly familiar. I was 5/6 in 1979, so it makes sense. What a strange time capsule of memories this sparks up!
